From reading the comments between Ricky and Michael over the past month, it seems like what has happened is a massive break down in effective communication between these two individuals, which in return, has lead each to make a knee jerk decision without the others knowledge.

Really, this hatchet just needs to be buried, pride has to be swallowed on both sides and you all need to actually go have a beer and just work it out face to face.

Don't Facebook it, Twitter it, text message, email or phone it... work it out face to face.

Having two separate sites will probably not be entirely healthy in the long run for Colorado's EDM scene and will only cause a negativity that will perpetuate itself for years to come.

Not trying to put you two on the couch, just an observation. I only wish the best for both of you.

OK, so I guess i Have to write this all out public like.

We wanted to reorg co-dnb. thats the straw.

nobig right? nobig. In fact, not only do i agree with ricky on this, so does buddy and nicole and everyone else we spoke with.

We have a private forum, gov cheese. We start discussing this. Ricky is ready to move on it. Knowing the history of un/codnb I stated under no uncertain terms we will not make any move on this arena until we speak with Buddy. PERIOD. If you make a move I will resign from unnet.

this was ignored.

We went to lunch about 6-8 weeks ago (the day he made his move) and we discussed this further. After lunch ricky unilaterally made his move. Without any further conversation and without talking to buddy in any way shape or form.

it was a total lack of respect for our partnerships, and just an example of how ricky operates. This is partially why nicole bailed on our moderating team years ago.

I quit, then he quit. He told everyone on our server to GTFO and they did. now mind you, these people also had a server that didnt function correct. Were trapped by ricky as the only support at his convenience. They could've moved, but wanted to continue to work with us. that said, they moved their shit. fucked by ricky.

At this point, ricky decided to 'UN" quit. Of course he didnt want to talk to me anymore.

he posts that he is going to move the site. Buddy responds, we should probably have a talk. I respond i think its time we had a chat.

this thread had those 3 comments (ricky, mine, buddys) and almost 50 views as of friday night. Ricky NEVER RESPONDED, COMMENTED, or reached out to me in any way shape or form. Knowing ricky... i wasnt surprised.

He txts me friday night. again, my "best friend" cant even fucking pick up the phone. Thank you ricky for your class act!!! He's ready to move the site to some shitbag hosting program. He's going to retain admin rights, and retain the site.

I'm like... um, no. i dont think so. SO I emailed him. I told him that i felt the UN as it is known has ran its course and if we are not going to work together then we should not do the project together. I specifically asked him to call me yesterday. SO we can work this out.

In the meantime... knowing ricky's bitch ways... I was ready to move forward on a new project. Something that wasn't tied to any ONE individual's ego. Something that would be scene oriented, that could be ran by the scene, that ultimately I could step out of and that people could run. tools that were supported, and not dependent on any one person.

Thus sidewaysfive.net was born. It was to pay respects to the UN, thus the name.

I didnt use/steal his code again... to respect Ricky. If WE werent going to do this, then WE shouldn't be doing it in the capacity it was in.

Again.. could i get ricky to speak to me? No.

Instead of calling me... he shut the site down. He shut off my exchange email, he shut the server and cut everyone off.

As a result we moved on the site yesterday.

That's what happened.



Now background... we had a web hosting business when we started this in 98. It helped pay for UN. many of you had hosting accounts with us. THis was a long time ago and regardless.. in 2004 he pulled bitch on me and bailed on teh business. I ate the debt, I dealt with all the clients, everything. He just walked away. We didnt speak for a year. For the sake of this fucking website we called UN i after a year reached out and made an effort to make this right. I ate my pride. I buried my hatchet. but this is what i got in return from ricky. ... i got a few more years of ricky not wanting to do SHIT for the website, with the website... hardly crap. The last year he has busted his ass on the calendar. GREAT!!! we appreciate it. But now that he's motivated the patience is not the same. He didnt have the patience to wait until we spoke to buddy to re-org the board he just ran with it.

Looking at the greater image behind all of this, that is, when I search for electronica shit in google, UNNET.NET is always on of the first ones to come up, and you've absolutely destroyed that for the worse now, because all inbound links are now longer valid, invalidating the sites that linked to unnet.net along with them. So yes, lame, laughable and in fucking mature, because you're the one that moved the domain, am I incorrect?
