Ableton Student Discounts

Has anyone ever gotten the student pricing through Ableton? It says you have to send them a copy of your ID / Student ID and they will verify you and give you the discount. My question is do you actually have to be taking a class on Live, or do you just have to be a student in general?

be cautious, dunno if ableton does it, but some software will not allow upgrade once you buy the educational version.

I warn yu though, some end up not being creative enough for all the time Apple saves them from troubleshooting dumbass OS and hardware/driver problems :p

from what i understand you can get Ableton and upgrade later... but the upgrade is full cost unless you get it from a school disc store.

lmao... Yeah right dude! :) The uninterupted workflow is fucking awesome. I am soooo happy with this laptop, I should have done this a long time ago.
