for those who recall the project from the UNNET board, i tracked my progress to completion on that gigantic MIDI controller built from lots of parts.

one of the central components was a circuit board that converted generic signals to MIDI on/off or 1-127 type ranges.

just wanted to give a heads up that the maker of that board, a dude named ken at www.halemicro.com (http://www.halemicro.com) is haviong a sale and has all kinds of new gadgets he is selling now. and he also has a plug-in to his boards that connects to this maker of parts: http://www.phidgets.com/products.php?category=1 that could be UBER SICK for different unique control options.

so much so i am considering going back to the drawing board for a colossus part 2. the phidgets website has a bunch of input devices that you can basically mount UNDER plastic or glass, provising for a control surface that is completely smooth, almost like star trek TNG computer surfaces and shit. different kinds too - faders, buttons, and rotary "knobs" that you simply spin your finger in a circle to turn (maybe like an ipod or some shit).

anyway, is anyone game to work on a new concoction?

Take a sheet of glass, put some sensors under it, then drape a (preferrably colorful) identification mat over it.

Bam, a midi control desk. hahah

holy crap, that's awesome. reminds me of the Stanton touch MIDI controllers. i actually have a few bucks to burn on something like this, i may make my first foray into controller building :D

I was thinking about doing a MIDI controller thang, I could even program the VST/exe patchbay/interface for it... but what are we talking cost-wise?
I don't see the sale...
