I saw that too.. Pretty effin cool..
I wonder if the software allows you to run more than 2 tables on 1 laptop if you so desire or if it only supports 2 per..
It'd be really tits if you could do 4 on one laptop unless a second laptop was plugged in or something like that..
I also like how it at seperate level controls for main, booth and session instead of just main and booth.
I'm not sure if I like this better than the A&H Xone 4D though?

/EDIT: Duh, the Xone 4D has no Ableton support - so that's a huge plus for the Rane unit..

No I really think they are terrible mixers

Why?
Not that this alone makes it a good unit but loads of people swear by them. I have used them and like them. Good build/sound quality.
I'm not super crazy about the layout. Things are a little tight for my big hands but its totally workable and certainly doesn't fall into the terrible mixer category..

Loads of people swore David Koresh was Jesus too.

I'm willing to bet none of them were priests, either..
On the other hand, lots of pro DJ's love the A&H.. Again, i'm not saying that its user base makes it a quality product.
So do you actually have any real feedback or you just don't like the name or something?
Just curious where you are coming from. I'm not trying to defend A&H products, I could care less.. I just want to make informed purchases.. :)
i don't like that 'unity gain' is at the top of the A&H faders (ie have to have the channel wide open to hit unity gain)...
dis=c0!

the last is a typical complaint about A&H. i think people have trouble getting used to the gain structure. i think the english companies sometimes use penny & giles faders instead of alps which is what most americans are used to. i could have that backwards tho. also the crossfader curve can be a bit....surprising if you haven't adjusted it to your liking. personally i love them and have enjoyed playing on them when i have gotten a chance. a 4d would be fun but would take me forever to get used to...

I personal cant stand A&H mixers either, but thats just me. And it has nothing to do with "lack of this" or "this is weird" etc. Its just preference.Thats one of the reasons I dont like arguing with all the die hard A&H fans. Because its preference. Nothing more.

Looks sweet but the last Scratch Mixer was horrid! The TTM56S... Fell apart the first day I used it. Not to mention the same problem with the replacement one they sent me in exchange. "Dat make a dj sad" I am all about Rane but the quality has really fallen off since 2000.
I hate to say it, but The pioneer is the way to go.

^that's odd. My old roomate had one and we took it out once a week for a year and never had a problem with it. It even took a small spill at the bar and still rocked on. This looks like a dope piece of equipment but not really what I am need as a DJ.
I wish it was MIDI mapable. They should have done that in my opinion.

Since were all talkin about Serato...I just got a new external and am in the process of moving all the music I play over to it. Now, my question is once moved over, can I delete the Seratobackup on my computer or leave it? Same with the SeratoLive folder?

I went through 2 in a month and I treat my gear like my children. maybe I got a bad batch or something? My old Rane mixers still work flawlessly:)
