okay i will take the bait.... since there is still two days left n all.....

why is a second forum so nightmareish to so many people? aren't we all the ones lamenting when microsoft acts all monopolistic? have you ever had to choose between two mexican restaurants for dinner? or two different fast food joints side by side? two venues with great music on the same night? what exactly is bad about that? why do you want someone else to make your choice for you?

if having more than one website on the internetz that you can go to get your fill is so bad, YOU CHOOSE. let your choice do the talking. if indeed its so bad for the scene, make your choice along with everyone else and surprise! - eventually one won't exist any more or won't be important enough to care that it exists.

i tend to think that either one will die out or they will evolve into niches for a certain group of people or music. thats really not a bad thing. put aside what you know and whats comfie and what has been or what you think you know of the hatfield and mccoy spat. what will be from here on out has already been decided, and i don't think it will be changing back.

welcome to the next chapter. some of the old characters are back, some of the old ones are gone, and some new ones get introduced. the beauty is you get to decide if its an interesting story and keep reading or not.

I also don't agree with the assertion that creating 2 forums is somehow 'hurting' events and promoters. If you solely rely on forums to get your party info, that's your own fault for not being active enough in the community (IMO).

If the promoters don't want to promote on both forums, then that's THEIR bad... ultimately, you can't blame someone for making a new outlet for conversation and gathering; they're catering to a need/want.

His intentions in unquitting, and my intentions in moving on ironically are the same... to preserve the community. In helping setup stuff for the other sites that had to GTFO who's content was not welcome the moving on idea was spawned.


but to think to understand the dynamics of the last many years based on recent events is to not understand at all. And to think that codnb had any influence beyond the immediate aftermath is to not understand at all. And to think that this bickering is any different than any other "move on" moment in the history of our scene is to forget everything else but what's in front of you on the internetz.

I will say this and then i'm done saying my piece. I already said i'm done posting or responding over there so this will be my last comment on the whole thing.

I am sorry things turned out the way they did. I am not only angry with how things went down but I am saddened by the turn of events. I feel bad for my relationship with my friend. I am also going to stand my ground. I am also going to keep my foot down on enough is enough. I know my intentions are pure, and I know that the UN as it stood was no longer when he decided to go rogue and do his own thing because for the first time in 11 years his "going out" and scenesterism combined with his movement on the event calendar gave him the ego he needed to play top dog. after 15 years of direct support and involvement in the scene i've spent the last two years working two jobs and the last year adding school fulltime. I'm also married and a father of two school age children. so any one argument about supporting the scene as a direct equal to showing up at the bar every week falls on deaf ears here. I'm here for the music first. I'm also one person out of thousands. my ROLE on supporting the scene is what it is, and evolves over time. I'd rather recognize that evolution than be the guy who's kept it real all these years and now he's the old creepy guy in the room...

This site will focus on community and music in whatever form that evolves including how it is administrated and managed keeping the ideals of one person control out of this project.

I hope over time we can find a way to a real solution that works for the scene as a whole. But to think two sites is unnecessary is to fail to give credit to other sites out there including dancemusicboard or denverforums(rip) or other sites in support of our culture.
