Dear UNNET Community,

After 11 years of UNNET the time has come to end the project Ricky and I have worked very hard at. It is very unfortunate as to how this project ended but clearly a time for a change was long overdue, and this change has occurred this weekend.

I don't need to re-hash the drama associated with this departure beyond stating that priorities between the parties involved with UNNET were no longer in synch, and this continues to be proven even today.

The intention of sidewaysfive is to continue the online web presence and preserve the online community UNNET harnessed.

Pardon our dust, and please excuse the confusion. Setup a new account, and join us on this next adventure we set forth today in 2009.

Michael refused to transfer the DNS servers for the domain to the new server, so I shut the server down because we are nearing the end of our billing period. Then Michael gladly transferred the domain name to his new site, which he started behind my back.

Pretty simple.

And none of us never will, I'm sure. But given that the original site wasn't migrated over(no reason it couldn't be, anyone technical enough would know that), it somewhat makes sense.

So that said, given what Ricky has said, and since Michael doesn't want to divulge any "drama", I'm gonna go with what HAS been said.

YMMV :) All things considered it is what it is. Thats my opinion and I'm entitled to it.

I love both of you guys. Ricky, you're cool as fk, a real & chill dude. I really wish we lived closer & we hung out more. Michael, you add just as much to our world, and I truly value our friendship.

I don't understand the logistics of it going back & forth, like a lot of the people on here. But I know you can both be tough headed & fight like spouses. But enough of all that behind the scenes shit.

unnet was a powerful marketing tool for me. But, more importantly, I've met the dopest mthrfkrs in Denver and have made many friends through that board.

So I guess I hope 1) It is still a great place to get the word out about our events and 2) The friendships stay strong & I grow new ones

I'm glad we have this. Thank you Michael for stepping up & making it happen. There was too much uncertainty to keep the un together. So you made a move, and I can respect that.

All I know is, it wasn't too long ago my favorite moment was up in the BPL and we all seemed like friends. I like the trust and I respect the people of our old board. I hope that spirit lives here too.

i will be sad forever that the UN is no more, and that things could not have been resolved in another way.

with that said, best of luck to the sidewaysfive crew (whoever you are). im glad someone actually took the initiative to even have a new place for the core group of UN peeps to go.
