Will there be event forums like we had on the un?

we're not sure yet - this is our great shortcoming.

there's a calendar to accommodate event entries, and event threads can be created as well.

dissent / suggestions?

I really utilize the event forums. I know some of the dramaz was linked to how they were used, so I'm not exactly sure how you guys want to proceed with the way they are set up, but fwiw I vote yes please. I'd really appreciate some form of an event forum, no matter how you guys decide to do it.

holy shit, that would really suck if the event forums were gone... makes this a one stop shop for me.

You'll find on other forums with this limitation people followup their short posts with "10char" to fill up the remaining characters, lol...

We need a place to waste time, rather than working and I'm sure they don't want that banter in the CoDnB forums.

just so there's no confusion or dredging up dnb VS the world stuff;

the real question here is why can't events exist IN the general discussion forum (as they do in the dnb/dub approach) and then stand on their own merit based on traffic / discussion / etc; ??

the thinking is that there will be a social group (under community) set-up for promoters with access then to the promoters forum and access to create calendar entries. then, threads can be created as and where those promoters see fit. no sticky. then, live and die on it's own merit.

look, we know this isn't a perfect system; this is the one big point where we don't have it right in this transition, and we need some help.

if, at the end of the day, you guys want an 'events' forum so that your general discussion forum can contain nonsense and time-wasters, we can do that....

No issue there, but you should probably have some kind of sticky about how to post events in all the forums, so people know its an event and not some bullshit post. I mean, if they do a shitty post, that's on them, but giving an expectation for event-related posts would probably make things run smoother (not that it has to be actively enforced)

copy that; rest assured we're going back and forth on this one to sort it out.

Yea the only issue I see is if all events are posted in general discussion their will be incessant bumping from promoters to keep all the events on the first page.

Brandon

Thanks for continuing the events forum. That's where I spent most of my time on the old site. I thought the way it was set up was really good and useful.
