Shouldn't we just go blow up the lab so we can avoid the whole terminator reality scenario altogether?
We might roll a good one then, with like...mages, mana, and dragons.
Edit: I'll admit though, the first terminator movie was good, but past that, they sucked. IMO.
IMO.

Bryan: "They were designed to copy human beings in every way except their emotions, and the designers reckoned that after a few years they might develop their own emotional responses. Ya know hate, love, fear, anger, envy. So they built in a fail safe device."
Deckard: "Which is what?"
Bryan: "A four year life span."

But they blew up Skynet and it happened anyway OH NOEZ!!!
Also, if Sarah Conner caused Skynet by crushing the 1st Terminator, and leaving it's hand behind, how the fuck did it initially exist to send back the 1st Terminator?

Believe me when I say we have a difficult time ahead of us. But if we are to be prepared for it, we must first shed our fear of it. I stand here, before you now, truthfully unafraid. Why? Because I believe something you do not? No, I stand here without fear because I remember. I remember that I am here not because of the path that lies before me but because of the path that lies behind me. I remember that for 100 years we have fought these machines. I remember that for 100 years they have sent their armies to destroy us, and after a century of war I remember that which matters most...
We are still here!!!
eating stem cells, making new dongs, producing stem babies. computerized extra dongs... yadayadayada. Up in da club.

What about the courtyard fight with all the Smiths? That was way cooler than the dragonball z crap in revolutions.
What about the highway scene? I bet you forgot the highway scene.

CG effects don't float my boat, I'm more into exploring the possibilities of the Matrix via plot. So... sadly, the billionty Smiths and jerky-camera'd booms of the highway scene didn't do it for me.
I loved the initial movie for the headfuck, not the fight scenes. The Oracle is something I really enjoyed from the trilogy. She's one of the few things that carried over that kept me from turning the latter movies off.
The trilogy had no reason to continue after the 1st movie, imo. Neo can see the Matrix, therefore it will inevitably be defeated. The end.

I watched it about a week ago and was so surprised at how fake it all looked. When it first came out everyone thought it was so advanced and now it just looks like a cartoon

If you want to talk plot, so much more happened in the 2nd than the 3rd. It was such a dense movie. So many new and cool characters, too.

Very few movies have timeless special fx. Although I thought it looked fake in the theater

I actually think terminator 2 did a pretty amazing job. Except for the flying robots... they looked like shit.
But lots of amazing shit for the technology that was present.

Indeed. A great example of timeless effects is 2001: A Space Odyssey (aside from the voyage into the monolith, that is)

there was more going on imo. it made alot of points about good vs. evil and how people are and society etc etc etc.
the matrix plot is more of a vehicle for the more important ideas the movies were aluding to.

I agree.. but my enmity for sequels goes deeper than just The Matrix. It all comes down to the perfect show "leaving me wanting more" but not delivering. It's a rule in showbiz that I think is really abused in Hollyweird due to their relentless, shameless pursuit of the almighty dollar.
At the end of The Matrix (part 1), I left the theater with many questions about the nature of humanity, reality, etc.. and the knowledge that more battles would be waged, but humanity would triumph under the leadership of "The One."
The deeper issues of that movie are something that could've (and should've, imo) been tackled via another storyline. Films like District 9 take the same stance, explore those deeper issues more, well, deeply.. and don't drag on a plot which has obviously concluded like The Matrix sequels did.
Just my opinion though. :)

why is he called the merovingian?
is he supposed to be a metaphor for the deposed/murdered frankish rulers?
they are also considered "grail family".
and whats the references to zion/sion?
methinks if they are using '"grail" references, they do it poorly.
