Yeah and Candyland didnt help much either, but that was another story.

ACF is a MUCH better location for this type of massive. The skylabs of past have always been great productions. Am interested to see if there is something new brought to the table.

Bloomin not so much. I remember my friends who were selling water knew who all of the undercover vice cops were cause they were there early and we would just sit and laser pointer the backs of their heads all night

Show probably costs 150K to produce. 5000 tickets at an average price of $40s is $200k. 50k profit margin. Not too shabby for a couple months of work. I'd be interested to learn what the REAL numbers are but being a HUGE cash business, we'll never know.

right... the sasha / digweed show where they played solo sets, i thought, was their last show... which was after the last of the old skylabs (september 2001) and the last flashback they did was spring 2001 (city aud') around easter sunday.

i wouldn't call their weekly nights at vinyl and the church "events", but they continued to do the club nights for a while even after they hosted their last parties.

Oh how the "rave" scene is such a horrible monster. Loud music, crowds of dancers, and drugs. Wait, that sounds like Beta on any given night, or perhaps "Burning Man" or a wedding reception for Pete's sake. Does it matter if the drugs are legal or illegal? What if the kid had been drunk, naked, and sitting on the side of the road, having just come from the Dirty Duck? Would that matter, if he were hit by a car?

I knew a guy who on the day of his wedding was taken golfing by his groomsmen. While golfing they drank a few beers laughed about their lives and applauded my friend's wedding. In a tragic accident, the golf cart flipped, striking my friend on the head and killing him. Tox report showed his blood alcohol content was .09, just above the legal limit. It just goes to show, it doesn't take loud music, and booze or other substances to suffer a horrible accident.

Candy land was in 2000 because it happened right before I started going to parties. Moonshine was in October 2000 it was my second party. Then came Bloomin and Skylab 8 was in September 2001.

Halo came and played Because Frankie Bones couldn't make it. And the last four hours with Wink into Halo I thought was stellar.

I think Digweed was one, but I can't remember who else. Was the first massive I ever went to and would like to know for nostalgia's sake. You're getting parties confused. Bloomin' was the show where AvH noshowed, and was at the Coliseum. Josh Wink was at Round 2, which was the same show as Run DMC, which was at the Stock Show complex.

RUN-DMC was at some sketchy place that was used as an indoor haunted house. Nique and I were hanging in the back area drinking a cooler of Heinekens waiting for RUN-DMC to show up so we could meet them. When they arrived, Jason went to grab a beer out of the cooler for JMJ (who was the only one out of the 3 who drank) and they were all gone. We were promptly kicked out of that room and given a stern talking to and never got to meet em lol
