Sad to hear this, I wanted to see it. I haven't really seen a good scary movie in a long time.
Too bad it's not up to expectations

Not up to one person's expectations.
Personally I thought it was fucking great. Easily one of the best horror movies I've seen in the last few years. That's really not saying much granted, but this stuck with me after I saw it.
But yeah, if you don't see it in theaters, there's probably no point in seeing it at all.

I saw it last night and absolutely hated it. I sat there the whole time waiting for the scary part, and then the movie was over.

So is it 'Quarantine', only with ghosts, instead of zombies, as it appears to be?

It's pretty difficult to pull off an actual scary movie imo
... desensitized movie watcher is desensitized.

No it's not... most of the 80s movies were scary as shit, because people actually TRIED and didn't rely on bullshit CGI crap to scare us. It's far more frightening to know that someone is actually interacting with the actor, rather than us knowing the actors are in front of a greenscreen.

Some, sure, but you can't tell me when you saw Alien and Aliens you weren't scared shitless? Or Event Horizon?
They were scary because of their great camerawork and suspense, NOT gore. Gore-y movies are hilarious.

i think you think 80's movies were scary because we were young then. i never watched many of them then - when i came back around to a few, they all sucked just as big as i always imagined they did. alien series was great; just not for the scare factor.
and i don't get the "if you don't see it in a theater" it suddenly won't be scary. why? because you have to be around a bunch of other gullible people who jump and shriek? because there are props in the rafters that fly down at the patrons? bullshit.

I spent the entire movie waiting for the douchey boyfriend to die. Best part imo.

Spent 11.00 dollars to get scared for less then 15 minutes. End was awesome, and kinda scary, rest of this borefest was just filler. 5 out of 10 for the entier movie, and 7 of 10 for the ending.

I can think of 10 ways to make this movie scary. they should have had less filler and more thriller IMO. I did get goosebumps a few times but left generally disappointed.
They really should have gone just a little deeper in to the paranormal
Honestly I think Blair Witch > paranormal in this film style

I actually met the students who made the Blair witch movie before it came out while I was in school in Florida. Everyone I knew back here thought it was very real.

ALWAYS KNEW BLAIR WITCH WASN'T REAL... LAUGHED AT THE PPL WHO THOUGHT IT WAS...
EVENT HORIZON ON THE OTHER HAND WAS CREEPY AS HELL WHEN I FIRST WATCHED IT BACK IN HS, BUT NOW DESENSITIZED VIEWER IS DESENSITIZED (PERFECTLY PUT CYBR)... LURVE MAKING FUN OF MOVIES THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SCARY, LIKE MST3K BUT MORE OF HFT3K

Did you see the grudge in the theatre?
IMO, that was the scariest movie of the decade.
