that's true about some artists. unfortunately most of the artists i know are poor.

after all, we live in Denver where rich people who buy art are few and far between.

I guess this statement still bothers me.. goes totally against what we're trying to do. I always saw art as being in the public domain. A work of art gains a life of its own as soon as it's completed - and even though a person can own a painting or sculpture, anyone else that sees it and connects with it owns it just as much - in their memory.

One of the best quotes about art is by Ad Reinhardt:

Nothing 'usable', 'manipulatable, 'salable', 'dealable', 'graspable'. No art as a commodity or a jobbery. Art is not the spiritual side of business.

true-pictures of art really never capture seeing it in person-even of the masters-you can see that art in text books, but to experience it in person is AN EXPERIENCE!

i think she said gallery was closed saturday except for "special appointments"? i don't need an appointment to see my wife's work. i see it every day.

Saturday during the day the gallery is open 12-8.

During Sat night mayhem downstairs, they'll be giving guided tours of the gallery, so you can still see all the art.
